General notes of interest...

 

Intel and its links to TI & Zilog's processors
supposedly CTC took Intel's 8008 design to TI
but CTC went to both and TI's design was never produced but was patented
and of course Faggin & Shima (part of 4004/40 & 8008/80)
went independent to design the Z80- a better 8080
